Fionnuala Ni Mhairtin
Fionnuala did her first yoga class at the age of 23 when she was living in London, in 2002. She always was interested in body movement as she danced throughout her teenage years. From, that first class in London, she popped in and out of different yoga classes as she moved around the world. It was not until she came back to live in Ireland 2008 that she discovered Iyengar yoga and feel in love! Finally, in 2011 she made the move and went for her teacher training.
She qualified as an Iyengar Yoga teacher in October of 2013, with a certification from the Iyengar institute in Pune. Fionnuala trained with Aisling Guirke in the Dublin Yoga Centre. She has been teaching classes ever since. In March 2016, she received her Intermediate Junior Level 1 Certificate. She continuously goes to workshops with Senior teachers to keep her knowledge and skill up to date. Workshops she has attended include, Bobby Clennell, Garth McClean, Jane Orton, Rachel Lovegrove and Stephanie Quirke. She most rectently trained with Usha Devi, in December 2016, in Rishikesh, India. She is a member of Dublin Iyengar Yoga Institute (DIYI).
“With continuous practice and training I am learning more and more about the body and yoga. There are so many layers to unveil that you never stop learning. I truly love it”
Fionnuala is very really passionate about teaching and giving the best to her students. Her attention to detail in class is a key approach. The Iyengar method has given her this foundation to understand the alignment and precision of the body. Fionnuala tries to provide this solid basis and information to all of her students.
